The Mothership is a platform and ever-expanding body of knowledge addressing how to work well. We reject the idea that living your values means sacrificing success. We aim for sustainability over scalability. We recognize the human beings behind the work, and embrace the challenges we face as doers and dreamers as opportunities to learn.

It takes a village to make anything happen. This, we know. Building something out of nothing is a tough road and the accountability and feedback from people who care about us is essential. The problem is that the people we love aren’t always the people who can help us problem-solve, confidence-build, and organize our lives in a way that makes us happy, healthy, and productive.

That’s where coaching comes in. In our weekly, biweekly, or monthly meetings, we will set goals, identify challenges, and make a plan to help you build sustainable work and a life you love.

We will look at:

Time Management & Prioritization
Work/Life Balance
Financial Intentionality
Business Development
Cultivating and Protecting Internal Resources

Marketing, Partnerships, and Community Engagement

A six week workshop that will turn your idea into an action plan.

Have a great idea for a business or project but not sure where to begin? We’re here to help. Join us for a six week series where you’ll join a cohort of people looking to get it started. We’ll meet once a week for six weeks to:

  1. Tell our stories and how they’ve led us to getting serious about this particular dream.
  2. Get clear about what our dream is, exactly, and how to communicate it to other people.
  3. Identify who this dream will reach and who else is reaching them.
  4. Get feedback from others to help refine the dream into something that really fits into the needs of our environment.
  5. Form a plan for the next steps and how to build a supportive community around your dream.
  6. Celebrate! Share your plan and your progress and celebrate and encourage one another.

This class meets 12pm-1:30 on Thursdays on the following dates:

April 27th, May 4th, May 11th, May 25th, June 1st, June 8th

Price: $175

“We become what we behold. We shape our tools, and thereafter our tools shape us.”
-Marshall McLuhan

As the relevance of social media creeps further into the many aspects of our lives, it’s important to increase our understanding of it as a tool, and how to use it to our best advantage.

In this class we ask questions that will lead us into developing an informed, authentic, and “successful” social media practice. We will look at what compels us to share, we will explore our personal aesthetics and voice, our narrative, our goals, and our presence. The task of this class is to look squarely at the state of social media and find a space for our identity and our businesses amidst the complicated landscape. We’ll cover terms and conditions, bad habits, incredible stories, and traditional marketing ‘best practices.’ At the end of this class, you should leave with a concrete personal philosophy or set of guidelines you have built throughout the course.

This is a 6 week class the meets weekly on Tuesday nights from 7:30 – 9:00pm June 27th – August 1st.

Price: $175

Find your rhythm. Explore your cycles of energy in work and life. Demystify the hustle.

Transforming an idea into action takes a lot of internal and external resources. But how you are in this process is just as important as what you are working toward. We can temper the hustle mentality of WorkWorkWorkWorkWork by recognizing and supporting our creative cycle.

This 6 week course explores the dynamics present in the workflow process by exploring Richard Strozzi-Heckler’s Rhythm of Energy:
Awakening, Increasing, Containing, Completing.
We will unite awareness of how we are in our own rhythm with practical resources for harnessing our energy to propel our work forward.

We’ll meet weekly to:

  • Explore how the Rhythm of Energy shows up in our daily life and workflow
  • Increase our awareness of how we are in each of the 4 rhythms
    • Awakening – How do you form an idea and get started?
    • Increasing – How do you keep building? Is busy really a virtue?
    • Containing – How do you recognize and relax into sustainability?
    • Completing – How do you celebrate?

This is a 6 week class the meets weekly on Tuesday nights from 7:30 – 9:00pm from August 29th – October 3rd.
